What is a USY Shabbaton?
A USY Shabbaton is Jewish sleepover weekend and a camp experience mixed together into one totally awesome experience.
Here’s what it means:
-
You go to a cool place (Camp Chi) with friends from other schools and synagogues.
-
You eat lots of yummy food, snack a lot, and enjoy sweet treats
-
You play games like gaga, sports, team-building games, late night activities, and more, including fun outings!
-
We celebrate Shabbat: We sing, celebrate, turn off our phones, and make Shabbat feel cozy and meaningful.
-
You will have tons of inside jokes, hillarious late-night conversations, ridiculous moments, and memories you’ll be bringing up for years to come.
-
You make new friends (and strengthen the ones you already have), including totally awesome teen leaders who run activities and hang out with you.
-
By the end, you’re exhausted, happy, and sad it’s all over, and looking forward to the next one!
