Shalom, CHUSY!

My name is Samantha Maya Brody, and I am so excited to have EILAT of fun with you all as your Israel Affairs Vice President! It is such an honor for me to be a part of this amazing opportunity to help every person in CHUSY Region connect to Israel in their own unique ways and to give back to the community that has given me so much.

I am currently a student at Rochelle Zell Jewish High School and am so proud to be a BJUSY Purple Elephant. I am currently serving on USY’s International Israel Affairs Committee and am the president of Writing Club, Literary Society, and Va’ad Israel at my school. If I ever have any free time, you can catch me rocking out to Static & Ben-El Tavori, snacking on Israeli salad, proofreading essays (or speeches, or applications, or bios…) for friends, or working on creative writing projects. I have spent my summers at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin for the last seven summers (Nivo ’17!) and will be attending a summer writing program at Brandeis this summer after spending two weeks in my second home, Israel, with Write on for Israel (an advocacy and education fellowship).

I am so beyond excited to spend this year working toward unique and educational Chalutzim programs at CHUSY conventions, sharing facts, news, and Israel Moments on the CHUSY Region Facebook and the @CHUSYIA twitter (follow me for some quality content), as well as creating so much more Israel-related content for our mighty region! It is my hope that this year will be filled with a variety of information ranging from activism to popular music and everything in between. Never hesitate to contact me if you need anything, have an idea, or just want to talk; I am here for you no matter the time or place. You can reach me at IA@chusy.org or samanthambrody@gmail.com. Chances are, though, if you say “Israel,” I’ll be there in no time flat, so don’t be afraid to call. Get excited, because this year ISRAELI going to be a great one!

Samantha Brody
